Late 1800s thru WW1 soldier scarf as issued for providing the troops with essential information including a breakdown of the standard rifle of the day. These were popular issue items with the national military organizations in Europe …… including France, England, Germany , and Russia amongst others. Originals are extremely rare as they were cotton and usually soiled and thrown away or left in the trenches.
