Description
The Taurus 856 Concealed Hammer is a compact, snub-nosed 6-shot revolver built for everyday carry, delivered in a small-frame, double-action-only (DAO) package that is easy to conceal yet comfortable to shoot at the range.
Chambered in 38 Special +P, the 856 tames recoil and accepts a wide range of ammunition – from light target loads up through quality self-defense rounds – making it equally at home during range sessions and as a defensive tool. The 2″ barrel and an overall length of 6.55″ keep the gun compact enough for on-body or off-body carry without giving up a secure grip.
The barrel, cylinder, and frame are all constructed from carbon steel with a uniform matte black finish for a low-reflective, snag-free profile. A ramped front sight paired with a fixed rear sight delivers a fast, intuitive sight picture for close-range defensive work, and an internal transfer-bar safety keeps the action locked until the trigger is pressed.
The concealed-hammer design eliminates the snag-prone spur that catches on cover garments during the draw, making this 856CH well suited for inside-the-waistband carry, pocket carry with a proper holster, or use as a deep-cover backup gun. Black finger-grooved rubber grips fill the hand and tame the recoil impulse, helping follow-up shots stay quick and accurate. At 22 oz, the 856 is light enough for all-day carry yet heavy enough to manage comfortably when stepping up to +P defensive ammunition.
