The Federal 138 Grain 9mm Luger Syntech Defense™ is a different take on the trusty self-defense caliber. Featuring a segmented hollowpoint bullet, the projectile splits into four separate pieces. The main core penetrates to the FBI’s recommended depth of 12-18 inches, while the three petals create other wound channels about 6” in depth. Their testing shows muzzle velocity at 1,050 FPS with 338 ft/lbs of energy. They also have a blue synthetic jacket to reduce heat and fouling. Each box of ammo is made in the USA and contains 50 rounds.
