Description
The Howa M1500 HS Precision is a precision bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, built around Howa’s time-tested M1500 action with decades of refinement behind it. This particular configuration pairs a 16.25-inch heavy barrel with a black Hogue OverMolded synthetic stock, making it a compact, accurate platform well-suited for hunting, range work, and entry-level precision rifle competition.
The blued steel receiver houses a forged bolt with a smooth 60-degree bolt throw for fast cycling, paired with Howa’s HACT (Howa Actuation Control) two-stage trigger. A three-position safety allows safe unloading with the safety engaged. The heavy barrel is threaded (5/8×24) for suppressor or muzzle brake attachment and the rifle is optic ready, with no iron sights installed. The barrel features a 1:10 twist rate for stabilizing a wide range of 6.5 Creedmoor bullet weights.
The black Hogue OverMolded stock is pillar-bedded for consistent accuracy and includes a soft recoil pad to manage the already-mild recoil of the 6.5 Creedmoor. The tactile overmolded grip surface provides secure handling in wet, cold, or gloved conditions, and integrated sling swivel studs accept a bipod or carry sling. With a 5+1 capacity (5 rounds in the detachable box magazine plus one in the chamber) and a right-hand configuration, this Howa 1500 delivers match-grade accuracy at an accessible price point for medium-game hunting or extended-range target shooting.
