Behold the power of Russian steel! This 5.45×39 ammunition by Wolf is perfect for AK-74 rifles – which are designed for steel-cased ammo – and it’s surprisingly easy on the old wallet to boot.
You won’t find a lick of brass in this ammo’s steel cases. That reduces its price tag substantially, and it also makes range clean-up easy so long as you’ve got a big enough magnet. Wolf coats their cases in polymer to enhance a semi-automatic rifle’s ability to feed and extract, and their primers are wholly non-corrosive. Just be advised that steel is virtually useless as far as handloading is concerned.
This ammo is loaded with 60 grain full metal jacket projectiles. They cannot expand inside soft tissue, but they’re still equipped to rip sizeable holes through any medium. Wolf’s bullets have bimetal jackets. These are mostly made out of cost-effective steel, so you’ll save even more money at the expense of being unable to fire this magnetic ammo at all indoor ranges.
Wolf ammunition is primarily manufactured at the Tula Cartridge Plant, which is why this ammo’s cases are headstamped “Tulammo.”
