Description
The Henry H006GML Mare’s Leg Side Gate is a compact lever-action pistol chambered in .44 Magnum / .44 Special, built as a cut-down, modified version of Henry’s renowned Big Boy brass-side-gate rifle. Designed to be holstered like a pistol yet fired with the speed of a lever-action, the Mare’s Leg delivers serious stopping power in a short, maneuverable package that pays homage to the iconic Old West firearm.
At the heart of this pistol is a 12.9″ blued octagon barrel paired with a polished hardened brass receiver, giving it the classic look of traditional American craftsmanship. The American walnut buttstock and forearm provide a comfortable grip and timeless aesthetic, while the large loop lever adds a distinctive touch and allows for faster cycling.
This model features the innovative side gate loading system, allowing for quick and convenient reloading without having to remove the tube magazine. The 5+1 capacity is well-suited to the cartridge, and the transfer bar safety helps prevent accidental discharge. Sights consist of a brass bead front and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear, giving you the tools for accurate shooting whether you’re hunting, plinking, or adding to your collection.
With an overall length of 25″ and a weight of 5.79 lbs, the Mare’s Leg Side Gate balances nicely for both one- and two-handed shooting. Manufactured in the USA by Henry Repeating Arms, this firearm represents a unique blend of historical inspiration and modern manufacturing quality.
