From humble beginnings in a small garage to becoming a powerhouse in the ammunition industry, Hornady embodies the American dream. Founded in 1949 by Joyce Hornady, a World War II veteran with a passion for marksmanship, the company has consistently pushed the boundaries of ballistic science. Hornady’s journey is marked by groundbreaking innovations like the revolutionary LEVERevolution ammunition, which breathed new life into lever-action rifles, and the precision-driven ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag – eXpanding) bullets that have redefined long-range shooting. Beyond their product line, Hornady’s impact extends to education and advocacy, with their Handbook of Cartridge Reloading considered the bible for reloading enthusiasts. Today, under the leadership of Steve Hornady, Joyce’s son, the company continues to blend cutting-edge technology with old-fashioned American craftsmanship, ensuring that each round leaving their facility in Grand Island, Nebraska, meets the exacting standards that have made Hornady a trusted name among hunters, competitive shooters, and law enforcement professionals worldwide.
