Description
The Hornady Precision Hunter lineup is engineered for serious big-game hunters who demand match-grade accuracy from a factory hunting load. This 7mm PRC offering is loaded with a 175 gr Extremely Low Drag-eXpanding (ELD-X) bullet featuring Hornady’s signature Heat Shield tip that resists aerodynamic heating and retains its shape to maintain the highest-in-class ballistic coefficient through the full flight path.
Pushed to a muzzle velocity of 3000 fps and producing 3497 ft lbs of muzzle energy, the 7mm PRC was designed around modern, high-BC, low-drag bullets and a standard 1:8″ twist – making it a natural pairing for the ELD-X. On impact, the ELD-X initiates controlled expansion across a wide velocity window, driving a large mushroom with approximately 85-90% retained weight for deep penetration and large wound channels on big game.
Each round is built on a reloadable brass case and loaded to Hornady’s strict accuracy standards, delivering the precision and terminal performance hunters expect from the Precision Hunter line.
