Description
The Hornady Varmint Express line of rimfire ammunition is built to deliver the pinnacle of rimfire performance for varmint hunters and precision shooters. Each cartridge is assembled to ensure optimal pressure, velocity, accuracy, and lot-to-lot consistency. At the heart of each round is a 17 HM2 cartridge pushing a 17 grain Hornady V-MAX bullet to a muzzle velocity of 2100 fps and muzzle energy of 166 ft lbs.
The V-MAX is a polymer-tipped, match-grade projectile designed for tack-driving accuracy and dramatic expansion on impact. The streamlined polymer tip boosts the ballistic coefficient for a flat trajectory and initiates rapid expansion at varmint-hunting velocities, while precise swaging and concentricity deliver the consistency serious rimfire shooters demand.
Hornady selects only the highest-quality brass cases for this load, chosen for reliable feeding, corrosion resistance, proper hardness, and the ability to withstand maximum chamber pressures. Each primer is carefully matched to the individual load, selected for its ability to quickly, completely, and reliably ignite the powder charge. The result is a 17 Mach 2 round that is flat-shooting, accurate, and hard-hitting on small game and varmints.
Whether you are controlling pests on the farm, hunting prairie dogs and ground squirrels, or ringing steel at the range, the Hornady Varmint Express 17 HM2 delivers the accuracy, consistency, and terminal performance you need.
