The Sitka Gear Ascent is a lightweight hunting and outdoor shoe built for training, pre-season scouting, early-season hunts, hiking, and everyday movement on or off the trail. It combines the cushioned feel of a trail runner with the support and stability hunters need when moving across uneven ground, steep sidehills, and rocky terrain.
Designed around Sitka’s AXIS-FIT system and Apex Tread System outsole, the Ascent delivers a secure, locked-down fit with multidirectional traction without the bulk of a traditional hunting boot. The breathable, abrasion-resistant upper and lightweight EVA midsole make it especially well suited for warm-weather scouting, training, travel, and dry early-season conditions.

The proprietary Apex Tread System uses omni-directional lugs to create traction in multiple directions. That grip is designed for ascents, descents, side-to-side movement, and off-trail travel where dependable footing matters more than straight-line trail performance alone.
CUSHIONED AND STABLE RIDE
A molded EVA midsole provides lightweight cushioning and response underfoot, while TPU reinforcements add stability through uneven terrain. TPU guards at the heel and toe reinforce high-impact areas for added durability during repeated use in rough country.
BREATHABLE BUILD FOR WARM CONDITIONS
The abrasion-resistant upper balances durability with breathability, while a gusseted tongue helps improve fit and keep trail debris out. Unlike the Ascent GORE-TEX, the standard Ascent does not use a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane, making it the better choice when airflow and lightweight performance are priorities in warm, dry conditions.
