The Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara 2 Lightweight (BY03PBK2) brings Spyderco’s proven everyday-carry design language to the more affordable Byrd line, taking inspiration from the iconic Endura 4. A 3.75″ drop point blade is full-flat-ground from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel with a plain edge and a satin finish, offering a strong balance of edge retention, corrosion resistance, and easy resharpening. The signature “comet” shaped opening hole is a Byrd trademark, paired with a thumb slot for smooth, ambidextrous one-handed deployment. 8Cr13MoV contains molybdenum and vanadium to enhance strength, hardness, wear resistance, and toughness, while carbon boosts tensile strength and wear resistance so the blade holds a sharp cutting edge over time and use.
The handle is built on a back lock platform and molded from black fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) with Bi-Directional texturing for a secure, slip-resistant grip in any condition. A reversible 2-position pocket clip supports tip-up or tip-down carry on either side, and the lightweight FRN construction keeps carry weight at just 3.40 oz. The knife measures 4.84″ closed and 8.56″ overall when open.
