The Tipton 1911 Mag Well Vise Block is a purpose-built bench tool designed to cradle a 1911-pattern pistol by its magazine well for cleaning, maintenance, and light gunsmithing work. Made from solvent-resistant polymer, this block is non-marring to your firearm’s finish and built to stand up to the cleaners, oils, and lubricants you’ll be using around it.
Designed as a companion to the Tipton Best Gun Vise, the mag well block mounts directly to the vise’s center rail using the included fasteners. The center support section rotates 180 degrees in 15-degree increments, letting you position the pistol at whatever angle is most convenient for the task at hand and lock it firmly in place.
Don’t own a Tipton Best Gun Vise? The mag well arm is removable, so the block can be clamped directly in a bench vise for additional rigidity, or mounted to your benchtop using the included fasteners. The block locks into the frame via the 1911’s magazine release, holding the pistol securely during cleaning and minor gunsmithing operations. A built-in barrel bushing wrench rounds out the feature set, putting another commonly-needed 1911 tool right at hand.
