The Wilson Combat 25G is a one-piece full-length guide rod purpose-built for full-size 1911 Government pistols. Precision-machined from silver-finished steel, it serves as a direct drop-in replacement for the factory recoil spring guide with no pistol modification required.
Capturing the recoil spring over its full length gives the 25G a clear edge over stock components. It delivers superior slide alignment during the recoil cycle, which translates to smoother cycling, longer recoil spring life, extended slide-to-frame fit, and improved barrel-to-slide fit and accuracy – benefits especially appreciated on older military-spec 1911s. Assembly and disassembly follow the same procedure as factory components; a bushing wrench is required, and Wilson Combat recommends their 22 or 22P Barrel Bushing Wrench for this install.
